How To Aesthetic Home Design
Romanticize your life begins with curating a well designed home. Put in the extra effort to create the experience that you desire at home. To set the mood first choose one word that describes how you want to feel at home. To create those feel good emotions requires that you make the extra effort to design your home.
Mood
Start with your home identity. What is the one word you would choose to describe how you want to feel in hour home. This will set the tone for everything you purchase, create, design, and the mood you set for your daily living. Maybe you want to feel free, peaceful, inspired, or cozy. From hence forward every decision you make for your home should be in alignment.
EXAMPLE:
MY HOME ONE WORD: PEACEFUL
2. Create Systems
Beyond being aesthetically pleasing your home should also be functional. Design should be in line with how you live. If you make coffee every morning create a coffee bar with easy access to your coffee beans and accessories. I use my iRobot Roomba weekly to keep my floors clean. It provides so much convenience as I can do other house chores while my floors are getting cleaned.
3. Elevate the Ordinary
Life is to lived in the present not some uncertain future. Sure its great to have grand special moments but those are often few and far between. Elevate the ordinary. Celebrate the seemingly mundane. Why wait until you have a fancy dinner party to use your favorite glass wear? Go through your home find the pieces in your collection that bring you joy. Use and display these treasures. It will give your brain daily creativity inspiration, found memories, and release the feel good hormone dopamine.
EXAMPLE:
Just recently I used my beautiful vintage ice bucket. Then I used my fancy green glassware, just because.
4. Investment Pieces
Investment is going be different for everyone. Before deciding which pieces to invest in think about the rooms that get the most traffic. Where do you spend most of your time at home. The SAMSUNG frame is not only a high quality TV, it also serves as art. I enjoy art mode throughout the day and enjoy watching movies at night. I’m also a coffee enthusiast which made investing in an automatic espresso machine a no brainer. I enjoy the smell, sound, and beautiful dark caramel espresso each morning.
EXAMPLE:
As a lover of art, I could not resist the opportunity to own The Samsung Frame TV. After purchasing the SMEG Automatic Espresso Machine, I no longer buy fast coffee ie Starbucks. If I spend money on coffee it is for the experience of sitting down at a cafe enjoying a hot brew.
5. Be Intentional
Every piece you bring into your home should serve a purpose. That purpose can be as simple as, it brings you happiness. Each object I bring into my home is well thought out and planned. Environmentally friendly and prevents the negative feeling brought on by disappointing impulse purchases.
EXAMPLE:
The objects in my modern bookshelf showcase some of the joys of my life. They include various books, journals, vintage objects, and treasures from my travels.
