What Does Vitamin C Serum Do?

Vitamin C has many benefits. Most notable stimulating collagen and fading hyperpigmentation. hyperpigmentation = dark spots

TEST YOUR VITAMIN C IQ?

So how does it work?

Vitamin C is a anti oxidant that work to block the aging effects of the sun. It also works to stimulate collagen. For my girls dealing with dark spots, Vitamin C inhibits melanocytes from producing excess melanin.

melanocytes = cells in your skin that produce melanin

How and When do I use it?

Add it to your routine by applying in the morning after you cleanse and before you apply sunscreen. Use daily for best results. Layer under other pigment fighting serums like Niacinamide or Azelaic Acid.

.

Is Vitamin C pregnancy safe?

Yes, one of few products that is safe to use in pregnancy for those of us with acne, melasma, and dark spots. As always check with your OBGYN before using any products while pregnant.

Do you need Vitamin C?

There are many vitamin C serums on the market. When deciding which is right for you look at the ingredients list. Does it contain the most active form of vitamin C, which is L-ascorbic acid. Is it formulated with other ingredients to keep the serum active, like vitamin E. Finally does it cause irritation? Some with sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate the acidity of vitamin C. In that case there are other products that can give you similar benefits. Check out our post on the best ingredients for fading hyperpigmentation.
